Embracing God's Omnipresence in Our Daily Lives

It has become increasingly clear to me that God's attributes are not being preached in churches today or maybe they are not being clearly defined because the “church” thinks the words are “too big” for typical churchgoers to understand.

As I was doing research for my guided journal, I commonly asked believers what Omnipresence, Omniscience, Omnipotence, and Immutability meant. Most times, I got the “deer in the headlight” look! I believe these very important truths need to be understood and incorporated daily into every believer's walk. That's why I wrote this easy-to-understand guided journal, "Share Your Life’s Journey With Me, Lord." It was my goal to write a simple biblical journal on God's attributes that even a 3rd grader could understand.

In today's post, I explore the profound impact of recognizing God's omnipresence. Understanding that His presence is with us daily offers comfort, guidance, and clarity. Let's delve into how God's constant presence steers our lives according to His will, how He controls world events and personal lives, and how reflecting on our past reveals His work.

The Comfort of His Constant Presence: God's omnipresence means He is always with us, no matter where we are or what we are facing. This knowledge can provide immense comfort, especially during challenging times. Psalm 139:7-10 reminds us, "Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there."

Divine Guidance: Steering Our Lives According to His Will: God's presence is not passive; it actively guides us in the direction of His will. Proverbs 16:9 states, "In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps." Trusting in His guidance means surrendering our plans and ambitions to His greater purpose.

God's Sovereignty Over World Events and Personal Lives: God's control extends beyond our personal lives to encompass all world events. He has been present and in control from before time began, continues to be now, and will be in the future. Daniel 2:21 says, "He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning." Recognizing this helps us trust His plan for both the world and our personal journeys.

Clarity Through Reflection: Often, we cannot see God's work in our lives until we look backward. Reflecting on past experiences reveals His hand in the events and decisions that shaped our journey. As we read in Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Chapter 2 of "Share Your Life's Journey With Me, Lord" book provides an accessible exploration of omnipresence. Discover how God's presence touches every facet of our lives, offering reassurance, guidance, and clarity. Embrace His constant presence and trust in His divine plan.
